About Anna Richo
As of November 1, 2012, Anna Richo became Executive Vice President and General Counsel of UCB, a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Ms. Richo has responsibility for the legal, intellectual property and corporate compliance departments. Ms. Richo is a member of the Executive Committee.
Prior to joining UCB, Anna Richo was senior vice president and chief compliance officer with Amgen, Inc., in Thousand Oaks, California, for several years. She oversaw the firm’s worldwide business ethics and compliance program, which relates to diverse activities spanning manufacturing, product development, reporting, and sales and marketing. Anna Richo had led expansion of Amgen’s health care program to more than 50 countries, including emerging markets, in ways that support the firm’s overall strategic interests.
Ms. Richo completed her bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations at Cornell University, and earned her JD at the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. Initially involved in private practice, she accepted a corporate position with Baxter International, Inc., in the early 1990s. Ms. Richo worked on the firm’s full range of litigation challenges, including mass tort cases and global risk exposure. She subsequently served as vice president, law, with Baxter Healthcare Corporation’s BioScience division. Anna Richo’s responsibilities included mergers & acquisitions and complex regulatory and intellectual property matters.
